What to Expect
Your first visit, step by step- Schedule Your Appointment:
Book an appointment to schedule.
New clients will receive an intake form to fill out before your first visit. - Fill Out Your Intake Form:
This form helps me understand your body, your history, any injuries or conditions,
and what you’re hoping to get from bodywork. Everything you share is confidential. - Arrive a Few Minutes Early:
This gives you time to find parking, walk up to the studio, and settle in before we begin.
-
When You Arrive
I’ll greet you and we’ll review your intake form together. This is your chance to ask questions, share anything that’s come up since filling out the form, and talk about what your body needs today. -
Getting on the Table
Once we’ve discussed your session, I’ll step out while you undress to your comfort level and get under the sheet and blanket. You can be fully nude or keep underwear on—whatever feels right for you. You’ll always be properly draped for your comfort and privacy. -
The Bodywork
I usually start each session with a deep breath and compressions around the body to help you sink in and settle. From there, I’ll proceed based on what we discussed and what your body is telling me. I check in throughout the session to make sure pressure, positioning, and pace feel good. -
Communication Is Key
If something doesn’t feel right—whether the pressure is too much or too little, you need to shift position, take a break, or anything else—please tell me immediately. You’re always in control of what happens on the table, and you can revoke consent to any area being worked on at any time. -
Ending the Session
I like to end sessions with a deep breath and gentle rocking of the body, a signal to your nervous system that it’s safe to integrate what just happened.
- Take Your Time:
Some people feel relaxed and floaty after bodywork. Others feel energized. Give yourself
a moment to come back before getting dressed and heading out. - Hydrate:
Drink water after your session to support your body’s processing. - What You Might Feel:
It’s normal to feel sore for 1–2 days after deep work. You might also feel emotional,
tired, or surprisingly energized. All of this is your body integrating the work. - Rebooking:
If you’d like to schedule another session, we can talk about frequency and next steps.
